There Will Be Peace

There Will Be Peace was written for "Voices Together", Lismore's Reconciliation choir, for the International Day of Peace , August 2002.

It is very simple, with the two outer parts parallel throughout, and the middle part not quite parallel. Octave doubling of any of the parts is O.K. and the bigger the group the more powerful it will feel.

Make sure it lilts by accenting the start of each bar slightly, and don't rush.

The first five verses are the same tune, which then has some variation in the last two.

May you have a peaceful time with it.

--------------------------------

There will be peace, if it can start here within me,
here within you.

There will be peace, felt from the heart,
starting within, radiating.

There will be peace, here locally, felt globally,
it will be so.

There will be peace, spreading around.
Carried by people wherever they go.

There will be peace. There will be joy.
I can't imagine why it's not so.

When there is peace there will be love.
Step at a time is all I can do.

Right here and now, next moment too,
I'm loving me, I'm loving you.
